Frank Sessions Named Week 4 Player of the Week

50 for 50. This week’s Player of the Week, Franklin Session, warned his opponents on California Supreme in the second quarter that he was going to score 50 points by the end of the game. By the time the final buzzer sounded, he’d also racked up 13 rebounds and 7 assists on the way to a 107-63 victory for his team, Tuff Fades – the biggest margin of victory so far this season.

But is anyone surprised? Frank Nitty has become legend for his feats on the Drew League court, from leading Birdie’s Revenge to an undefeated championship season in 2017 to hanging ridiculous stat lines on trash-talking visitors, the hometown hero’s reputation for delivering eye-popping accomplishments is well documented. And yet, as always, he is magnanimous in crediting his teammates for their roles and downplaying his own.

With a second Player of the Week honor under his belt just 4 weeks into the season, it still doesn’t feel too early to hear the growing whispers of “MVP” – whispers that, should they come true, would mean his fourth such honor in fewer than 10 years. Along with Frank’s signature performances, it already looks like Tuff Fades is well on the way to the playoffs with a perfect 4-0 record so far. The sky’s the limit, and the 50th anniversary is the perfect opportunity for Session to make more Drew League history.
