BRAYDEN BURRIES NAMED WEEK 7 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Our final Player of the Week for the 2025 Drew League season is Problems’ own Brayden Burries. He put up 29 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists in the Evil Empire’s 92-86 win over Cheaters putting Problems in first place in the Horace Wormely division.

Brayden had the second-most points in the game, behind Garrett “G Money” Nevels’ 32, but did all the other things that gave Problems the advantage over their longtime rivals. He took on the toughest defensive assignments for much of the game, and could be counted on to get the buckets they absolutely needed when the game got tight. His 2 credited steals led to crucial buckets in the fourth, allowing Problems to hang in for overtime, where they finally took over once and for all.

While G Money has been Problems’ go-to scorer since his return a couple of weeks ago, there shouldn’t be any question about which player is the team’s heart. Burries has been the steadying presence in each of Problems’ games this season … and arguably, the prime factor in their 6 wins (the only game they lost, against Jedi in week 2, was the only one he didn’t play in).

He was the leading scorer in all but 3 games (Garrett led 2, while Jay Harris was Problems’ main guy against BPE), and when he doesn’t lead, he makes sure he touches every other statistical category – and he’s usually right behind the leader anyway. He never gets flustered and he lets his game do the talking. He’s a problem for any defender – pun intended – but he’s a dream for his team as they head into the playoffs with one of the most consistent, versatile players in the Drew.
