JEROME RANDALL NAMED WEEK 3 PLAYER OF THE WEEK

The Player of the Week for week 3 is Jerome Randle of Cititeam Blazers.

The Blazers’ coach, Rod Shannon, is hands down the loudest coach in the Drew. His booming voice can be heard bellowing “rebound!” from just about anywhere in the gym – and maybe even outside of it.

But his team’s leading scorer and point guard, Jerome Randle, might just have made the loudest statement on the court Sunday, pouring in 27 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists in Blazers’ 90-85 thriller against | Can All Stars. He was also a perfect 12/12 from the free throw line, underscoring just how important that free chicken gets when games go to overtime and every game has huge playoff impact (short seasons will do that).

Romey-Rome did it from every level, using his playground-honed handle to free himself up for mid-range pull-ups and slinky lays, wiggling his way through double teams and leaving individual defenders astounded. And he did it all with a cool stoicism that belied just how much joy he clearly plays with as he toys with the rock like a yo-yo.

That joy and chill is infectious, helping keep the Blazers level in heated tilts like Sundays… and could be the key to a successful summer as competition heats up.
