Jordan Bell Named Week 3 Player of the Week

Congrats to @jbell for being named Week 3 Player of the Week.

Putting up double-doubles in back-to-back games for his rookie team, Long Beach native Jordan Bell is the week 3 Player of the Week. On Saturday, he put up 18 points and pulled down 11 rebounds against the Citi Team Blazers, then he scored 17 and ripped down 13 boards against Hometown Favorites. This was no small feat, as both teams often field tremendous talent at the center position where Bell spends most of his time on the court.

If he is a center though, he’s one of the Drew’s few do-it-all big men. He can lead the break, pass out of the post, and has even been known to shoot the occasional three. In his past years, he has played with Nick Young and other stars on MHP, but this is his first time putting a team together himself. CHPT562 is comprised mostly of fellow Beachers, many of whom he played with in high school. That continuity is serving the new team well, as they’re off to a 4-0 start for the summer. With Bell’s defensive presence and an all-around attack, they look to keep that streak going all the way to the end.
