2015 Drew League – Podcast: The Drew’s International Pros

The Drew League features several players who have done big things as professional athletes outside of the United States.

One of the elements that make the Drew League one of the best pro-am basketball leagues in the world is the scope of the fans, players, coaches, scouts and others in the basketball realm who come from all over to be at the Drew.

NWA and LA LOOP head coach Keion Kindred, BB4L guard Casper Ware, and LAUNFD guard Pooh Jeter are featured in this piece about the relationship between the Drew League and overseas hoops.

  • Citi Team Blazers G Kyle Gibson (14.3 points per game for Virtus Roma, Italy)
  • Sky Ryse G Donovan Morris (20.0 points per game, 1.7 steals per game for Wurzburg Baskets Akademie, Germany)
  • M.H.P. F D.J. Shelton (14.8 points per game for Kangoeroes Basket Willebroek, Belgium)
  • Pandas F Metta World Peace (Played with 2014 Drew League MVP Money Mike Efevberha for Sichuan in China, finished season playing for Acqua Vitasnella Cantu in Italy)
  • Hank’s Houdini’s All-Stars F Kwame Alexander (Played in Cyprus, Philippines, Greece, and South Korea last season, averaging a combined 15.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game)
  • NWA C Chuck Garcia (Played in South Korea and Puerto Rico, averaging a combined 10.8 points per game)
  • NWA F Mark Dawson (11.2 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game for Correcaminos in Mexico)
